Volunteer

ALA of Missouri volunteers play an important role in helping us work toward our goals: to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Anyone can be a volunteer. It just takes the willingness to exercise your skills for a good cause. ALA of Missouri volunteers work with staff members to fight disease and improve the lives of people throughout Missouri. Ready to help? Here are just a few of the opportunities available.

Camp Superkids
Qualified medical personnel are needed to volunteer at a week-long camp for asthmatic children in June at Camp Lakewood, located at the Lake of the Ozarks. Contact Sue King at (314) 645-5505 or sking@lungmo.org.

Special Events
Community volunteers are needed! Help with various events throughout the year such as the Circle of Hope events or Blow the Whistle on Asthma, asthma walk. Contact Mary Stygar for details at (314) 645-5505 or mstygar@lungmo.org.

Office Duties
Volunteers are needed to help with office duties such as putting together packets, making copies and organizing mailings. Contact Loretta Drapp at (314) 645-5505 or ldrapp@lungmo.org.

Health Fairs
Volunteers are needed to disseminate brochures and literature at schools and other community health fairs. If you would like to help educate the public about lung health, contact Sue King at (314) 645-5505 or sking@lungmo.org.

SCHooL (Students Choosing Healthy Lungs) Each fall we recognize the importance of tobacco prevention at the grade school level. Volunteers visit various schools throughout Missouri to give an effective, but brief, presentation about the dangers of smoking. 1st, 4th, and 7th grades are targeted for this program. For more information contact Mary Stygar at (314) 645-5505 or mstygar@lungmo.org.
