Super Asthma Saturday
Super Asthma Saturday is held from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. for adults with asthma and their family members, children with asthma and their family members, daycare providers, educators, respiratory therapists, nurses and social workers. There is no charge for adults with asthma and family members, children with asthma and family members, or daycare providers. There is an $10 materials fee for educators, respiratory therapists, nurses, and social workers. People who attend Super Asthma Saturday will learn about asthma triggers in the home and other environments, medication administration, and living successfully with a chronic disease. Dakota Superkids Asthma Camp(R)
North Dakota's only summer camp for children with severe asthma. Children are supervised by volunteer medical personnel and camp counselors. Activities include hiking, arts and crafts, water sports and daily asthma education sessions. Superkids is for children ages 8-15. For more information, call (701) 223-5613.
Radon Detection and Education Program
Learn how to detect and eliminate this harmful indoor air pollutant, thought to be the second leading cause of lung cancer, from your home. Short-term and long-term test kits, along with useful information on radon gas, mitigation information and info on other indoor environmental pollutants, is available.
