Super Asthma Saturday Comes to North Dakota

Nearly 5,000 people die each year in the United States from asthma. This includes people diagnosed people with “mild asthma.” Asthma is the number one reason for missed school days, and 14.5 million days of work are missed each year because of asthma.

Education is a key component to excellent asthma control. To answer this great need, Super Asthma Saturday is being sponsored by the American Lung Association of North Dakota on:

  • Saturday, March 19, 2005 in Minot.
  • The event is for children with asthma and their siblings 5-15 years of age, their parents, daycare providers, and adults with asthma. All may attend free of charge.

Topics covered at the event include:

  • What is Asthma?
  • Dealing with a Chronic Illness
  • How to Use Medications and Devices
  • How to Avoid/Minimize Trigger Exposure
  • Super Asthma Saturday will be held from 8:30am – 12:30pm and pre-registration is required. Contact the American Lung Association of North Dakota at 223-5613 for more information or to register.

For 100 years, the American Lung Association has been the lead organization working to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Lung disease death rates continue to increase while other leading causes of death have declined. The American Lung Association funds vital research on the causes of and treatments for lung disease. With the generous support of the public, the American Lung Association is “Improving life, one breath at a time.”
